Medallia is looking for a Visual Designer to join our team of creative individuals. You will help craft beautiful and engaging experiences on our growing platform. You’ll be working with our visual design team, UX designers, researchers, product managers, and developers, helping to shape how our growing platform looks and feels. One way you’ll do this n addition to being an empathetic, creative, and systems thinker, here are some of the qualifications we’re looking for: 

Responsibilities

  • Take conceptual ideas and turn them into simple and well-crafted experiences.
  • Be a core contributor to our comprehensive and flexible visual design system that enables designers and engineers to deliver beautiful and clear experiences. Be a core contributor to design guidelines, a high-level set of interaction and visual design concepts, patterns, and components that underpin Medallia’s platform. It is used to provide a unified design for applications in the Medallia ecosystem.
  • Produce design resources for fellow designers to use in their day-to-day work, e.g. UI kit of our design system.
  • Partner with engineering to deliver a well-documented and easily reference-able front-end framework that faithfully expresses Medallia’s design system.
  • Partner with Product Managers, engineers, and researchers to incorporate learnings, address challenges, and perform final reviews with engineering to ensure a unified delivery of applications on the Medallia platform.

Minimum qualifications

  • In addition to being an empathetic, creative, and systems thinker, here are some of the qualifications we’re looking for: 

  • BA/BS in Visual Arts, Marketing, Communication or other related discipline preferred, or relevant work experience
  • 2+ years experience as a practitioner of research-influenced design with demonstrated results
  • Knowledge of customer research, ideation, prototyping, design frameworks, concept visualization, and what makes beautiful interfaces
  • Collaborator, builder, and motivator for cross-functional teams
  • Motivated, organized, and accountable for your work and that of the team
  • Able to effectively communicate, collaborate and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure the visual design is effective
  • You can move from a strategy discussion to one about the merits of vertical rhythm, with equal passion and persuasionSelf-aware, constantly working to understand and overcome blind spots.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Figma
