We are looking for motivated javascript engineers, to work with other like minded engineers in small teams to solve challenging technical problems, own your products end-to-end and help take the industry leading SaaS platform to the next level.  Medallia DC is located in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia, but you’ll also work with distributed teams across North America, Argentina, and Europe. We’ve got a culture focused on smarts, kindness, continual learning, and feedback… and our people love it. As a frontend engineer on the Admin Suite team, you will design, build and maintain modern web apps and common platform components that empower the client administrators to self-launch and self-serve the Medallia platform. You will build on Medallia’s state of the art, core service infrastructure and platform. Your work will enable the world’s leading businesses to develop Operational Customer Experience Management (OCEM) programs that will enable them to adapt to the demands of their customers


  • Ship great software that is scalable and robust and then keep it humming.
  • Drive the technical roadmap and definition and help the team prioritize and plan.
  • Partner closely with dependent teams across engineering to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Identify gaps in knowledge, tools, and process and work with your manager & PM to address them.
  • Incorporate best development practices and habits and help build tooling to enforce the same.
  • Work in small teams with like minded javascript engineers in an agile environment with daily standups, demo days, code reviews and research spikes.
  • Become a go-to person for a part or whole of the system.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers and impact teams through tech talks and presentations.
  • Every developer should be personally involved and motivated to improve the experience for the team; we are always proactively seeking out ways to help ourselves and our teams to minimize pain points within our infrastructure and code base.  We love technology -- and follow the latest technologies, sharing what we learn.
  • Experimentation (tools, languages, processes, etc) is an important catalyst for growth and innovation at Medallia. We love internal hack-a-thons for this!
  • We build strong relationships with team members around the globe and have the collaborative tooling to make it efficient and impactful.
  • 5+ years of delivering customer facing web apps using modern web stack. Our applications are built with React, Apollo, and modern HTML + CSS.
  • Proficient with a testing framework like Jest and accompanying test libraries and technologies, such as React Testing Library and Selenium, 
  • Proficient in Javascript - functional programming, promises, closure.
  • Experience building BFF style services. We use Node for our BFFs.
  • Experience with TypeScript (TS) or another strongly typed language.
  • Demonstrate the ability to break down problem sets, such as feature requests, requirement specifications, or UI/UX designs, to aid in estimation, planning, and technical feasibility determination.
  • Bring an ownership mindset with quality orientation and DevOps experience (triaging production issues, working with our release management team to deploy hotfixes, etc).Demonstrate strong software engineering fundamentals, i.e. code organization, conciseness, fault tolerance.
  • Must have Agile process experience (story time, poker planning) and ability to work in fast-paced and distributed teams throughout the world.
  • Enjoy mentoring and leading other engineers. Leveling up the team collectively is an important aspect of engineering at Medallia, especially with the number of engineers that work on the platform.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
