The Medallia Strategy & Analytics Team (MSAT) is a first-of-its-kind experience management (XM) consulting team. Its role is to help our customers realize the value of their investments with Medallia by uncovering data-driven insights and stories to inform their XM and program strategy and maximize its ROI.
MSAT is a global, high-performing consulting team. Today, the team is staffed by a cross-discipline team of problem solvers, who are located in San Francisco, Chicago, Virginia, New York, London, and Munich. They have a mix of MBA, Ph.D., and BS/MS in quantitative/research disciplines. We’ve only just scratched the surface of MSAT’s potential, and our team’s role is critical to the near and long-term distinctiveness of Medallia!
As an Advanced Analytics Senior Consultant on our team, you will work with insights and data science teams at admired brands on a mission-critical task—helping companies improve in the eyes of their ultimate judges: customers and employees.
Designs applied analytical models (i.e: linkage, predictive, prescriptive, and clustering models) based on structured and unstructured data to help customers generate actionable, replicable insights that drive business outcomes.
Translate results of analyses into easy-to-understand, actionable insights. Contributes to data-driven business and CX/EX program recommendations.
Act as a trusted advisor to client data science teams on analytics strategy and statistical testing. Effectively explain technical concepts at all levels in the organization, including senior leaders/stakeholders. Effectively leads unstructured Q&A on methods/statistics.
Contribute to team and cross-functional initiatives related to process improvement, tools development, analytical methodology, onboarding, etc.
Keeps abreast of new and current statistical methodologies, machine learning, and data wrangling techniques. Innovates on statistical modeling to develop new offerings and/or approaches. Contributes to analytics thought leadership (white papers and client roundtables)
Master’s degree in quantitative/research field and 4+ years of work experience
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to choose and apply practical and rigorous analytical methods to solve clients’ business problems.
Statistical expertise: In-depth knowledge of statistical concepts, methods, and current literature on parametrical and non-parametrical tests, sampling, experimental and quasi-experimental designs
Data analysis and statistical modeling skills: Experience manipulating and analyzing structured and unstructured data from different sources using R, Python, and Jupyter notebooks.
Deep knowledge of and experience in applying regression modeling and predictive analytics, and experimental designs (A/B testing)
Ability to explain complex methodological approaches and translate results into simple terms, e.g. for non-technical audiences
Effectively communicate methodological approaches and their advantages and disadvantages to technical audiences (e.g. data scientists)Experience leading projects and project teams
Experience partnering with cross-functional teams
Ph.D. in a quantitative/research field and 2+ years of work experience
Experience leading projects and project teams in a client-facing role
Experience applying time series analysis, cluster analysis, additional advanced modeling approaches, ML
Ability to translate complex statistical results into business implications to provide actionable insights to clients.
Understand key client needs across verticals and recommend the best analytical methods to provide insights
